POATE To Raise The Profile Of Uganda As A Preferred Tourism Destination

The Minister of Tourism, Hon. Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, has today launched the 4th edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo 2018, at Sheraton Hotel, Kampala.

The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) is an annual event organized by Uganda Tourism Board (UTB). It brings together all tourism stakeholders and other service providers along the tourism value chain from both the East African region and the international community.

Under the theme “Rediscovering the Pearl”, in its fourth edition, POATE is aimed at raising the profile of Uganda as a preferred destination, domestically, regionally and internationally, at the main exhibition running from 23rd – 25th February 2018.

“Our vision, working with tourism partners, is to develop POATE into one of the most effective networking platforms in the East African Region within the shortest time possible. In this regard, the POATE committee has invited several hosted buyers and media personnel to engage in business-to-business (B2B) discussions with the expo sellers and exhibitors,” states part of the exhibition’s statement.

“As a live event, POATE has been organized to bring together different travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, destination managers and other service providers along the tourism value chain, presenting a unique opportunity for the tourism business operators across Africa to meet new clients, network, market and discuss business. POATE brings together all tour and travel service providers in one location,” it adds.
